Renew NM Fast Facts
Over 950,000 New Mexicans are currently enrolled in Medicaid.
Over 500,000 New Mexicans receive SNAP for essential food benefits.
During the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), the state was required to provide continuous coverage.
According to the New Mexico Human Services Department, 83% of New Mexico babies are born under Medicaid coverage. New Mexico has the highest rate of Medicaid-covered births in the nation.
After the PHE ends, all New Mexicans will need to renew their eligibility, or they will lose their health coverage and/or SNAP benefits.
Some Medicaid customers may no longer be eligible for Medicaid coverage but they will have access to other affordable health insurance options.
